I BET YOU DID NOT KNOW!!! A Jeep received a Purple Heart. A Jeep was actually a recipient of the Purple Heart a military award bestowed to those who've been wounded or died during military service. The Jeep, named Old Faithful, was the first American vehicle to ever receive this honor thanks to its service in Guadalcanal and Bougainville during WWII. During the battle it sustained bullet wholes to the windshield. It was ordered that the vehicle be retired and a Purple Heart issued.
